Assistant Sales Manager (SEYCHELLES)

1. Job Purpose
To act as the Manager of the sales team at the hotel, ensuring efficient communication between the hotel and related customers, representing the hotel in the local trade and travel community and overseeing the successful coordination of all group and meeting activities.

2. Principle accountabilities
• Manage the Sales Coordinator under the direction of the Director of Sales
• Responsible for Corporate and weddings as well as assigned leisure accounts
• Organize and conduct familiarization trips, coordinating all details with respective departments
• Offer assistance in all other markets if required
• Ensure seamless conferences and events from acquisition to delivery through the sales force and F&B teams.
• Conduct familiarization trips and site-inspections proficiently.
• Conduct local and overseas sales trips as per area assignment
• Provide professional advisory to the director of sales and coordinator.
• Direct the coordination of ongoing research of the travel industry local, regional, and international markets to detect market trends and uncertainties, and related information for development of new marketing strategies.
• Understand the dynamics of competing hotels, assigned or otherwise, to optimize positive and reverse negative impacts on our business strategies.
• Understand the total revenue impact of accounts on the hotels for better negotiation and yielding opportunities, and reviews business activities and its results to ensure goals are on pace.
• Assist the Director of Sales to prepare the Sales Business plan.
• Know and apply the operational standards and procedures of the department.
• Superior knowledge of all Hotel operational requirements and standards in the Hotel.
• Knowledge of new trends within the industry.
• Setting market segment objectives
• Developing market segment action plans
• Reporting on sales activities on a weekly basis
• Actively research developments within the broader environment related to products and services, customer needs and requirements, competitors and their strategies.
• Understand customers from a marketing perspective, positioning them in segments and niches. Manages the customer bases accordingly.

3. General
• Contributes to the morale and team spirit of the hotel by maintaining effective relationships with colleagues
• Makes appropriate suggestions and recommendations to Manager for the general improvement of the hotel
• Is fully conversant with all health and safety, fire and emergency procedures
• Awareness of other general and respective departmental SOPs/Policies & Procedures
• Maintains a high standard of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, and body language
• Is polite and professional in any situation where the image or reputation of the hotel is represented
• Attends meetings and training as required by manager
• Ensures that all activities are carried out honestly, ethically and within the parameters of the Seychelles local law
• Interacts with guests and soliciting feedback as and when required
• Performance delivery according to the respective department’s SOPs and as per trainings provided
• Reports on duty punctually and in accordance with the department duty roster/work schedule
• Works cooperatively in a team environment
• Lives and projects the Mission and Vision of the company
• Ensures to be groomed as per the standards at all times whilst on the premises of the Hotel
• Performs additional duties as directed by Sales Director

4. Qualifications and Experience (Competencies)
• 3 years’ experience in Sales within the Hospitality industry
• High level of communication in English. French is preferred.
• Tertiary education and/or degree in the related field or equivalent
